12. 2 Senators and 5 Congressional Reps, most or all leaning Blue, is reason for the GOP to fight it

In the platform or not, the GOP has entered a phase where they need to fight to remain relevant in the 21st Century. Personally, I hope they oppose statehood and play the obstructionist game until 2014. The House will go Blue, the Senate will get Bluer, and Obama's last 2 years will be a GLORIOUS frenzy of progress setting the stage in 2016 for Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, Alan Grayson, Russ Feingold, or whoever the hell wins the Primary.
