The mistake our country made back then was to let both Nixon and Agnew skate on their crimes by resigning. Neither of those two rotten crooks spent a single day in jail. The unfortunate message that was sent is that you can get away with anything as long as you are powerful enough and are either rich or backed by people with deep pockets. The hateful toxic slime of bigotry has been around since the founding of this country and is way overdue for being faced and dealt with. But it needs its jet fuel of big money to be exposed and cut off. You named all the sources that have lead us to where we are. All of these connections need to be exposed, and their influence and money cut off. It will be like attacking The Hydra.
