28. We had our bags packed but did not leave

Oct 2012

My dad had us pack our bags in the car so if we had to split we could leave in a jiffy but we did not leave our homes.

I remember I was in Algebra class when the school announced for us to return to our homerooms. We all waited for our Bus number to be called and each bus was loaded one by one so it would minimize the amount of time we spent outdoors (The Bus could pull right in front of the front doors of the school). We had off all the next week and it was probably one of the sunniest, warmest weeks in spring and we weren't allowed to go outside.

Ironically I had a family member who went to school in Middletown - they had her walk home from school that day (about a mile).
