I never had the money to go, but hell, at least I got in. At 18, however, I knew a lot of what books could teach me. I just didn't know squat about anything else. That all came pretty quickly in the next few years, though, life has a way of deflating us quickly when we leave home and start to live it.

She reminds me of someone who was a complete grind in school, doing nothing at all but hitting the books, and who lived with Mom and Dad all through her 20s. Unless she got into Cornell as a legacy, she's probably smart enough when it comes to books.

She just doesn't know jack shit about anything else and while she's being protected and coddled and overpaid, she won't learn.
