When a vaccinated person is infected with the disease they are vaccinated against... It's called a 'breakthrough' infection.
IF one does get a breakthrough infection, the prognosis is dire.
I base this conditional statement on the following drawn from the numbers above:
Of the millions, 7,157 (so far) have experienced breakthrough infections.
Of those 7,157, 498 (or 6.95%) were hospitalized.
Of those hospitalized, 88 (or 17.7%) died.
The prognosis for that small subset of vaccinated patients who experience a breakthrough infection is much worse than the overall disease.
So, it's best not to experience a breakthrough infection. Therefore, KEEP WEARING A DAMN MASK. You don't want to fall into that small subset of patients who experience a breakthrough infection.
