(90,762 posts)I read them and think the such and such needs to be up higher on the list or down lower and I wonder why some even made it.
But that's a personal taste thing.
If the list is made by those in the business or even when musicians rate other musicians - well, they would know better than I. They are using a different set of criteria than I am. A professional one, though personal preference when it comes to style also plays into it for them. It would have to, just not, it seems to me, with the absolutism that fans bring to it.
Musicians name their influences and those influences come from across the board - culling from country, rock, soul, R&B, bluegrass, jazz, classical and on and on. It's the music. It's the playing. Not all the baggage. Though the industry is not without baggage - just a different sort.
Comes to music, I'm open to the experience.
It's a smorgasbord of talent and sometimes I come back for seconds, thirds, fourths and sometimes one tasting is enough. Sometimes a single bite is too much.
Thanks!
