(1,976 posts)And they have experience in government (US attorney), military (Jag) and supreme Court (clerking and arguing cases) law. While I don't think much of them as senators, they have legal experience and skills they would happily share to help their leader.
I suspect they were presenting briefs and arguments for 45's defense to his official defense team, conspiring again. I wouldn't be surprised if Hawley contributed also, I thought he was sitting aloft to take notes and prepare defense arguments for the former pResident.
If they did provide arguments for the defense team to use, it doesn't seem right to me either.
It should not he allowed, but somehow I don't think it's prohibited. They're saying that procedural rules were reviewed, not that they were assisting the defense. Looks fishy to me.
I've heard that the defense will use less time than they were granted, to make their case.
I won't be watching live, but will read about it and watch it after the fact.
