The thing that holds this whole edifice together is that people believe they are free and have agency even though they are a lot less free and have a lot less agency than they believe they have. Remove that illusion and things go sideways quickly.

On a more mundane level folks that work at companies like google, Intel, and Microsoft aren't going to hang around in a nation where Jethro and Billy Bob are calling the shots.

A hillbilly dictatorship would make Canada great.
