Occupy San Diego, First Year Aniversary [View all]
So yesterday I thought I would have just a human interest story... well, not quite, though I must say this morning it looked bleak for a while. Me and Captain Jones of the San Diego PD were talking and cooling our heels. March concentration programed for 10:00 and the COPS and the PRESS are there but no protester to be found... Anyway... to make a long story short... we had a march, started with fifty folks, ended with 200... Where the other 150 came from... it just grew, poof!
Doing field reporting, as I have found over the course of the last year, can and is rather physical... and it keeps me on my toes too.
I am bone tired, and have a story to write about the one year anniversary of Occupy San Diego in the morning. I am so tired, that not there is even not enough energy to look at photos right now...
So tomorrow will also post a few photos here, after I do the due diligence with the other paper, and get the article written.
I went to town tonight... the atmospherics were right (hi photography group), and took quite a bit in Black and White... as well.
I wish papers ran more black and white to be honest... I find it far more challenging than color, and I like it a lot.
But for those of you who insist that Occupy is dead, Monty Python comes to mind... "I'm not dead yet!"
I am sure in the coming year they will give us many surprises and many other great things. And yes, I think I FINALLY need to figure out You Tube... Tonight one song composed for occupy was a tear jerker. I recorded it in video... need to figure out how to do you tube... it was amazing.
