normal will not end us up in the same place; it will be much worse next time. Fascism, exponentially exacerbated by runaway climate-crisis disaster situations, is waiting in the wings. Anything resembling the old normal or status quo will end in calamity. Now’s our chance to leap forward. The best science, both political and environmental, suggests we don’t fuck this chance up.
