Sitting at a lunch counter minding your own business is not fear and intimidation. Walking down the street with a sign is not fear and intimidation. Encouraging people to look at their own wrongness is not intimidation. Demanding justice is not intimidation.

They provoked yes. But fear and intimidate, no.
