It could easily be about the Silicon Valley city I grew up in. So much so that the article could have been written by one of my high school friends that became cops and are now retired.

He emphasized clearly to never talk to the cops. I'll take it one step further. Don't even call for their help unless it's your absolute last resort. They seldom make things better for anyone involved when they arrive. I know I wouldn't feel good if I was the store clerk who called the cops on George Floyd over a suspected counterfeit $20 bill. The sad thing is that clerk probably feels worse than the cops who killed Floyd.
