6. Why I never once considered sending my kids to Catholic school

My husband (a graduate of St. Pius X and Cardinal O’Hara) told me this incident in his class in the late 60s: one nun’s favorite punishment was to smack the kid’s forehead against the blackboard. One time she did it so hard to a kid (not DH) that he passed out. Ambulance was called and the kid taken away. Next day the kid was BACK IN SCHOOL and apparently the parents were perfectly fine with this. Nothing was ever heard of the incident again. Can you imagine if that happened now? And thank god we have gotten a little more enlightened about child abuse.
