16. Kapernick doesn't deserve it. His protest was counterproductive and he actually discouraged voting

in the 2016 election.
I understand he came to symbolize more than he is as a person, but it is wrong to award someone like that who really just did the protest out of ignorance and never has apologized or done anything to actually encourage actual change through civic engagement.
