(16,020 posts)109. After Hurricane Charley the cell phones did not work
as their batteries ran out (no power)but our land line worked like a charm. I have a phone from 1940 with rotary dial cause it reminds me of being a kid and I have your reg push button cordless phones AND cell. I am ready for anything!

Your internet will still work, as will Skype - but you can't call 911. Can call the nonemergency #.

Yes, two land lines--one for hubby's office--one for our 'home'. Have cells, too.
