18. Humility is a good thing so seldom held up today. It makes us mentally healthy.

But I’m glad you wear your hat. I never served. I knew my career path in High School and got right on it. But we need people to serve our nation. With so few needed today unlike 1940-1975 it is good for young people who feel a desire to see those who served being given public respect. Many of the best people I know are veterans. Especially those that served in an all volunteer service. Sadly, few of those I knew that served in the draft force are alive. My dad was a Korea Veteran. He was ROTC at his university so had to serve. Not that he did not want to. He never talked about what he saw but he said it made him the good man I remember.

Now we just need to elect someone who will use our service men and women wisely. Something that, in my opinion has been missing for most of the last 40 years.

Oh, and thanks for your service.
