3. One puzzling aspect of this

Even if the election could be postponed (I don't think it can, but Trump has gotten away with many impossible things), if they are betting that hundreds of thousands of dead Americans will somehow help Trump in November, I can't figure out how this is more likely than the alternate scenario: that it kills more Red staters and Fox Newsers who don't believe the virus poses a threat, and enrages everybody else, increasing the likelihood of a Blue typhoon in November. I don't want anyone to die, but I'm just looking at who is more likely to defy common sense, and also looking at the states where the governors are pushing hardest to open things up and/or ignoring hot spots and dangerous outbreaks.

But maybe I'm missing something obvious. That's happened before.
