But, this begs the question: What if their constituents are adversely impacted by the COVID-19 which was previously sold as a hoax (and broadly accepted as such among Trump's base) impacts their constituents lives directly?

It's going to happen. It's not an 'if' situation anymore. Be it a loss of mobilizations, hospitalization, loss of income, loss of investments profits or (forbid) loss of life. It will impact them. It will in the end impact us all in some adverse way.
