Long ago a couple of sisters from Turkey told me the wisdom in their culture is to choose new homes for the neighbors. So obviously wise for most, even in our modern world, that I've never forgotten.

We're a small family with our son and his family close by, daughter and hers 3 states away. But we have a number of friends whose lives revolve around their extended families, and a buunch of their children have chosen that over all other choices.
