We all are to some extent. He has wrought emotional violence on everyone, including his MAGATs who will also pay a personal price psychically. Don’t let it get any worse by ignoring the seriousness of the effect it’s having on you.

It’s like you want Trump and his invasive Trumpist followers to just go away but you also feel you don’t dare relax because the emotional blows are coming so fast, one after the other. The effect is hyper vigilance. It’s what happens whenever there is a bullying abuser who has power over you living in your life.

The important thing to do is, first, acknowledge the truth of the situation, including your inability to do anything about the situation. Then figure out what you CAN do for yourself to escape the feelings of despair. The answers will come to you. We all have recourses to care for ourselves. Do you have vacation time coming? Take it and do something you love without paying attention to the news while you’re doing it. It will all still be there when you get back, ready to fight again. Just figure out what your alternatives are and do them.

The number one rule that all emotionally stable people do is know when they have to take care of themselves in order to be the best they can be. Do things you love. If you love movies then binge watch them. If you love reading then binge read. Spoil yourself a little. You’ll be better able to fight the good fight when you return.
