Not all are people who are older, either. I have young adult children who have confessed similar worries and anxiety. Both work with the public to some degree and are discouraged with your number 1 and 2, same as you. It has led them to retreat politically and keep their liberalism to themselves. Both have lost some of their optimism for our country.
We recently had visitors from Canada and got a shock of our lives. A Canadian actually claimed Trump is the best president we've ever had, Hillary murdered people, and Trump Jr. will be elected in 2024 after his father serves another term. Being from Canada ourselves this was quite a shock. Not all our friends and family from there believe this way, but quite obviously social media and FOX News have had some success indoctrinating people across the border.

Our perpetual elections have become reality TV. There is much more opinion being circulated than facts. We are all seeing the nasty effects.

Happy Valentine's Day anyway. I refuse to give my hope for better away, but I will give you a heart.
