What were the idiots on Twitter thinking?

Or what were the promoters of unregulated supplements and snake oil "cures" who keep the magazine afloat thinking?

If your question is the latter one, a lot of "natural" bullshit promoters are Republicans, because they have problems with health and safety regulations concerning food, and they also aren't fond of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, the Federal Drug Administration or the Federal Trade Commission. Right wingers abound in the snake oil business.
