Shame on you. Have you ever watched the show?

I was 30 yrs old before I discovered Mr. Roger's Neighborhood.

It was the first time in my life I saw the gentle reassurance given to children that people could love them just the way they are, because we all, every one of us, are special.

Strangely, I watched it for years. It was a show that, even at my age, left me feeling better about myself. I wish I had seen it when I was actually a child.

That show has absolutely nothing in common with church or boy scout scandals.

What's next to trash? Sesame Street?

Besides, if Tom Hanks is in it, it has got to be good.
