Who are WE? We are the people who are defined not by political party, but by our decency, our morals, and our principles.

We are the people whose patriotism and love of country is demonstrated by our adherence to the Constitution and upholding the rule of law, rather than accepting the idea that those in positions of power are above the law, or can ignore the Constitution when politically convenient.

We are the people who welcome immigrants, just as our immigrant ancestors were once afforded the chance to build a new life for themselves and contribute to our nation’s strength and prosperity.

We are the people who want our elected representatives to be loyal to their constituents, instead of being self-serving sycophants whose only loyalty is to a “pResident” – whose only loyalty is to himself.

We are the people who want a president who is intelligent and well-informed, and spends his time attending to the business of the country, rather than tweeting, watching TV, and playing golf.

We are the people who want an administration that protects the environment, and not one that protects the profits of corporate polluters – the consequences to our country, and the world at large, be damned.

We are the people who are smart enough to recognize that proven scientific fact outweighs the ludicrous ramblings of know-nothing politicians who dismiss such facts as groundless hoaxes.

We are the people who see funding education as an investment in our nation’s future, and not as ‘free stuff’.

We are the people who understand that affordable healthcare is a benefit not just to those who need it, but to the entire population, because bankrupting citizens due to medical bills benefits no one.

We are the people who demand secure and fair elections – because without them, democracy simply doesn’t exist.

We are the people who support social programs that represent a safety net for those among us who need not a hand-out, but a helping hand.

We are the people who “judge a man by his character and not the colour of his skin”, and we abhor the concept that anyone should be judged on any other basis.

We are the people who strive to make our country a “more perfect union”, rather than striving to reduce our nation’s leadership in the global community by distancing us from our allies and isolating us from those who now view us as a country whose “pResident” cannot be trusted.

We are the people who recognize that a “pResident” who openly promotes racism, violence, and divisiveness is doing the bidding of those foreign powers who want nothing so much as seeing our democracy fail by virtue of that division.

Above all, we are the people who will not be deterred from our mission to preserve our democracy by a “pResident” who is too stupid to know he’s being played by Putin and Kim Jong-Un, and too self-absorbed to understand that his role as pOTUS is supposed to be about what is good for the country instead of what is good for himself.

We are the people who WILL take our country back from a treasonous “pResident”, his ass-kissing enablers, and the spineless Republicans who cower at the thought that there might be a ‘tweet’ against them if they speak up for what is right.

So savour the last days of your “pResident’s” reign of terror, Trump-humpers. Enjoy your new-found freedom to use racist language, embrace your own stupidity, and continue to support the man who is systematically destroying your way of life.

In the end, it won’t matter – because WE are the people who will take our country back, and YOU are the people who we will be taking it back from. What happens to you after that is of little concern to anyone.
