34. I would imagine 18 dogs would be in need of a fair amount of food fairly soon.

Aside from my first response to make a terrible joke about it, I think maybe the dogs were trying to survive and they did what they needed to. It's gross, and it is uncomfortable, but it is also a fact of life that other species are not bound by human esthetics. It's everywhere else in the animal world, why would it not be in canines? Shoot, we had a mated pair of conures and the male started to munch on the female one day when she got egg bound and died while we were at work.



The article does talk about the late owner's ill health, so there really is no way to know if he died on his own or if one of his dogs killed him. It's all very sad and incredibly disturbing, however
