19. Nixon was NOT POPULAR when talk of impeachment began in earnest. Key is 50% "removal from office"

He slipped below 50% about May 1973, over a year before he was impeached. He was at 24% approval when impeachment was referred by Committee to the House July 1974. For a few months before the "remove from office" figure had been flirting with 50%. Trump never was as popular as Nixon was.
