The public does arguably have a right to know... but I can’t think of a legally enforceable right that would force the AG to release publicly a report that was supposed to be confidential.

Our right to know these things is protected by Congress... which can certainly perform their own investigation. The shortcut of trying to get DOJ’s investigative results quickly will rely on persuading (through public opinion) Barr to release it.
