Of course it is not defined that way. But the government provides it for everyone. I guess it depends on how one looks at it..or defines it. What about "public roads?" Public transportation? The New York subway system is provided by the government, built by the government, for public use. It is subsidized by the government. Of course it is not called "socialism." At one time, there were private systems that ran transit systems. So, they went broke, and the government took them over. Is that it? Good or Bad?

Step one...look up definition of socialism...and it is none of the things you listed.
