Schools are a community of people who work together for the kids. Even if they haven't made the news they're taking care of your kids every day. There've been more than a few winter days when my daughter's bus has rumbled down our snowy country lane and I shiver in fear and awe at the courage it must take to be responsible for all those kids on an icy day. Yet Lydia's been doing it for 31 years, without an accident.

It makes me really angry to see politicians denigrate people like school bus drivers. I'd love to see them do it for a week, let alone for 31 years....
