It is foolish beyond belief to pretend that the many hundreds of millions of dollars corporations spend donating money to the campaigns of politicians (from both parties) has absolutely no effect on the positions those politicians take once in office, at least some of the time. If that were true than all that money might as well be flushed down the toilet if it really has no effect on policies. Who believes that the corporate class is willing to simply waste all that money with no firm indications that it is a wise investment for their own self interests?
