If there were false IDs, false SS#, and other fake documents, then how do they pay them and what do they do with the taxes they take out? I've never had that experience, but I have had my payroll taxes questioned when something wasn't just quite right. I think they may well be doing something with the withholding, FICA, even the unemployment taxes because all those require names and SS#. Maybe they're paying them as subcontractors, but that won't fly under any scrutiny.
