(10,721 posts)6. I spent the first 25 years of my life in St. Louis. Missouri was once the ultimate bellwether.
But Missouri is now virtually hopeless.
And Democrats need to stop thinking they can win over Republicans. Focus on the metro areas and get out the base. When given a choice between a genuine Republican and a Democrat who tries to appeal to Republicans, Republicans will choose the former in almost every instance.

Some organizers in southern California have started a monthly Dem luncheon just to keep volunteers
