If you can get a Democratic Party recommendation list, follow that. Most likely such a list is not available, but you maybe able to find a rightwing one, vote the opposite of what they recommend.

You can study each Judge online, see who appointed him or her and try to find out something on their judicial philosophy. I used this in my local Judge races, unfortunately in my red county, I lost all of them. Who appointed them or their philosophy is key, an overly religious bent it pro gun or appointed by a republican is a red flag.

If you live in Florida, vote No on both the Supreme Court retention and the Fifth Circuit retention, both are Scott appointees and have a rightwing philosophy. You may lose along with me, but at least you would have tried.

Most people get surprised by the judicial retention choices, they are the stealth ballot items. Most people either don't vote on them or vote Yes, if they are poorly informed on the judicial philosophy. Unfortunately most counties send out sample ballots really late, that causes less time to educate on Judges.
