60. Remember: Manafort not yet convicted.

So far, Paul Manafort is merely a defendant, not yet gone to trial, and therefore is entitled to the presumption of innocense. This means that, altho he is locked up (as a flight risk and to prevent his emailing stuff), he is not being punished and is not supposed to be subject to anything that resembles punishment or privation.

So, for the moment, he is entitled to what he considered VIP treatment, because he is still legally innocent. Which means, I suppose, that he gets to keep his hairpiece and some other creature comforts.

That situation may change very dramatically as soon as his trial is finished.
