2. 38 states now allow on-line registration where one does not have to put up with that junk.

Glad the lady stuck it out. On-line won't get everyone, but it is an option for many. You can also quickly check your registration to determine if there is anything that might cause a problem on election day. I live in a red state, but registration is easy. Voting is simple too. You can order a ballot by mail and submit it by mail. They have a couple of weeks of early voting too. There is just no reason to wait until the last day to vote when impediments might come up.
