147. Moving the embassy to Jerusalem is an unnecessary, idiotic provocation

Nothing is gained by this. Trump has given away a huge negotiating tool for mideast peace, which should be used to get a concession from the Israelis on halting West Bank settlements.

And, there are only costs to doing this, no benefits. One of the best things the US can do to help Israel is to be seen by all parties as a fair, impartial negotiator. The peace deal that Carter brokered between Begin and Sadat has lasted for 40 years. Trump has thrown away our ability to act in that role, which is a disservice to Israel, in the long run.
