May 2018

If I had kids, I would work to raise them to eat as little sugar as possible, outside of an occasional treat like cookies or ice cream, but maybe once or twice per month. I found out that sugar causes my skin in dark areas to develop scabby, dry spots. Took a Dermatologist almost a year and a number of test before a tester in a lab discovered high sugar levels in biopsie samples. Was a shocking discovery, but here is the thing, the doctor found only part of the problem for one part of my body, turn out spots in another region that the doctor thought was sun exposure damage turned out to also be related to sugar. I cut way back on sugar and problems started going away, still have some work, but the worst areas are slowly coming back to normal color.

I can't eat commercial peanut butter or bread without breaking out on the thighs, buttocks and waist. I gave up jelly and jam a while back, even the unsweetened stuff. My "dessert" when I have it are a few pieces of raw fruit like orange slices and some melon.

I would suspect that any child that I father would carry genes for that problem, if not have it outright. I would want to save them some grief by teaching them how to live with a minimal sugar diet.

BTW, I don't have diabetes, my body just wigs out when I consume what for many people is a low amount of sugar.
