the lawyer can claim he did it of his of free will, the campaign never had anything to do with it, no cooperation, consultation, etc.

of course, it's hard to imagine he wasn't reimbursed somehow at some point and we can hope a good prosecutor could figure out how, or otherwise show that the campaign in fact did cooperate.


then there's the question of how did he come by the knowledge in the first place that stormy needed to be paid hush money, and wouldn't that have required consultation with the campaign -- with donnie himself?
