Squirrels are sometimes classified as vermin because they to feed on farmer crops (fruit) and can harass chickens.

Egg are seen as a delecacies. And they are not beyond killing youn chicks as food.

However, this is mostly a problem with the gray squirrels as they are less intimidated by human presence.

I don't think it's a good idea to report him for that comment, but I think stores should encourage their cashiers not to comment on items being purchased.
