Mysterious death in Jasper, Texas

http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2014/01/14/mysterious-death-in-jasper-texas/
<snip>
There are serious questions surrounding the death of Alfred Wright. He disappeared last November. It took searchers three weeks to locate his remains, even though they were found just up the road from where he vanished. Authorities say he died of a self-inflicted drug overdose. Wright's family says he did not do drugs, and according to the autopsy his throat was cut and his ear was missing. This happened in an area of Texas with a history of racial tension, where one of America's most horrific hate crimes occurred. Deborah Feyerick reports.

Black people slash their own throats in friendly neighborhoods throughout southeast Texas all of the time.

It's always useful to remember that. The area is full of racist garbage, and before any good Texan DUers take exception, know that I did spend about 4 years in nearby Beaumont, so my opinion was formed from primary data.

Even though there is a higher than average population of African-Americans. And Jasper & Vidor, NE of Houston, seems to be the center of that pit. I'm sure there are plenty of hate groups that SPLC can't keep track of here.

There are NO white Democrats where I live and no Democratic organizations on a county level. It's rural versus urban in Texas.

Sorry, but it's just not. You see mixed couples all the time and no one seems to bat an eye. The racism you see comes primarily from OLDER folks, the baby boomer Fox News crowd.
