About Me

65 years old. Lifelong democrat. Saw JFK in New Haven CT on election eve 1960. I was all of 5 years old. Cast my first vote for Jimmy Carter. Stayed up all night at the English Speaking Union I London to watch the returns. We celebrated the results about 9 AM London time. I cried the morning I learned Bobby Kennedy had been shot. I don't think I ever quite recovered, although President Obama's election helped a lot. These days I'm a moderate democrat and a cultural conservative. I miss the world of good manners, fancy dress and dancing cheek to cheek. Big TCM fan.

Congress should subpoena Alito, Barrett and Kavanaugh

and have them explain why they lied at their confirmation hearings.
When they whine they are immune explain it's a preliminary inquiry into whether they should be impeached for committing perjury.
They should be made to pay a price.

The vote to overturn Roe was 5-4 not 6-3

Justice Roberts voted simply to uphold the Miss. ban on abortions after 15 weeks thus concurring in the result not the judgment. For whatever that is worth.

All Ukraine soldiers have withdrawn from Sievierodonetsk.

I suspect they may retreat from Lysychansk across the river. The city that is actually strategic is farther west. Have to look it up.

I'd like to know what was going on at the Pentagon prior to Jan. 6.

I had read about the DOJ stuff in the Times. But trump actually did install new people at the Pentagon between Nov. and 1/6. Kash Patel who was mentioned today was one. What was the plan there? A coup? Seizure of ballots? Something else? I've never read anywhere about why he was installing puppets at DOD so late in the game.
