Lullaby of Birdland- Mariah Carey

The jazz club Birdland in NYC is open now!

Partying Returns to the Hamptons

Social benefits returned to the Hamptons on the unofficial last weekend in Summer (Labor Day Weekend). Large parties and the guests wearing no masks. Maybe they should have listened to the wisdom of Debbie Bancroft: Stay home and learn to cook! (Who doesn't love Debbie?)

The Plot Thickens in SC murder case

A prominent South Carolina lawyer whose wife and son were murdered in June was forced to resign from his family's century old law firm after the discovery that millions of dollars were missing from firm accounts just before he was found shot in the head on a lonely country road.

V Day Stomp - Four Clefs

1945. Almost over.

Is there anything to natural immunity from Covid?

I mean the situation where someone gets Covid and survived. Do they then have protection from getting Covid again? Is the protection as good as the protection from the vaccine? Do we know anything about this? Just wondering

Joe Biden the Catholic

Interesting article up on Politico about the President and his religion. Worth a read if you are interested:

NYT: Crypto Banking

Several stories in the Times in the last few days about crypto energy use and now the scary new world of crypto banking: Banks that make deposits and loans against crypto deposits.
Apparently they pay interest of up to 8 percent on deposits, but totally unregulated, no deposit insurance, subject to Cyber raids and the bank suddenly disappearing.
I don't understood any of it but the whole idea of Cyber banking and cyber currency to me is pretty scary. Risky hardly begins to describe it.
Paywalled unfortunately, unless you have a free article left

Dancing in the Dark - Artie Shaw

May I have this dance?

Wealthy scion of SC political dynasty shot in head

Has anyone else been following this story?
Alex Murdaugh, the wealthy head of a legal and political dynasty that has ruled over a poor rural South Carolina county for over a century, the other day was shot in the head on a lonely country road while changing a tire. His wife and son were both murdered in June inside their hunting lodge. The son had been involved in a boating accident that resulted in the death of a young girl some time before.
Murdaugh will survive. No arrests but a county full of suspects.
All straight out of Grisham or Faulkner or something.

Joni Mitchell out and about!

I know it's the New York Post, but they are reporting that Joni Mitchell is getting out a bit. And to a very long time adoring fan that's good news! I had heard for several years now that she isn't doing well.

PS: Her manager is still Peter Asher. That means something special to British Invasion Rock and Roll fans.
