MSNBC is a huge part of the problem

I'm going to piss some people off here so please, before you respond, read it again.
I've been a loyal MSNBC viewer back to the Countdown days. Too loyal.
I've bathed in the self-righteous glory of watching and defending the news network that doesn't lie to its viewers.
The bill of goods we've been sold is every bit as bullshit insulated as anything Fux news does.
Those of us that watch MSNBC as background during the day watched daily as reporters interviewed "Trump Voters" and it left us asking again and again, "How can these people be so out of touch?"
Another version is "How can they really believe the economy is that bad?" I'm at home really wondering "My God, they really have been brainwashed" etc...
There are really two trump voters out there. One is the selfish greedy voter who damn well knows rules like this, (Abortion bans, birth control) and who knows what else don't apply to people with money and two is the voter who has been outright ignored for DECADES now while us loyal MSNBC viewers pull our hair out because we've tried "everything" to reach them but in hindsight, most of them are "lost".
Everyone focuses on the word CULT when it's included in a sentence because it's a BAD word. As long as cults have been around, they've always had the same MO. Recruit members on the fringes of society, the outcasts, loners and here's the important ones, those suffering from insecurity and those disconnected from society. (loosely paraphrased from "The Psychology of Cults" UT Permian Basin).
We need to recognize, and I mean yesterday, that disconnected from society does not mean what it did 50 years ago. left behind or left out does not mean what it did 50 years ago.
Rural America is DYING and there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it. Start there.
Rural America has been at the bottom end of technological priority for DECADES.
Rural America is supposed to be thrilled when they get the scraps of economic expansion that by policy decisions alone, have driven most economic advancement to urban centers with barely a crumb left for anyone else.
Guess who was running most states when the listening stopped cold?
MSNBC contributes NOTHING to the necessary discourse in this country. During the day, it repeats the same bullshit breaking news with the same "Politics of the story" focus that has become truly nauseating over the trump era as it's gotten worse with each outrage. Everybody has to be neutral, both-siderism alive and well.
Outside our rose colored outrage at trump denigrating the decline of America and much worse, the reason that attack has been so successful is because in 80% of territorial America, IT IS.
Are trump voters going to get shit on? You bet, but trump got these voters to be loyal because he knows how to sell. Most people buy on emotion. It really is as simple as that. In that arena he's an expert.
As long as our eyes are on MSNBC, we are essentially no better off than fox viewers because we're all on the same BULLSHIT TRAIN, just a different car.
I know that having stopped watching myself, my conversations and whole perspective has changed dramatically.
I cannot Vote Republican for countless reasons but that in no way obligates me to prop up a channel that with honest reflection has elicited ever increasing feelings of anger and outrage at the whole system, especially the old guard, who still believe it's best to fucking poll test a message instead of listening and talking to PEOPLE, not voters.
I'm also pissed at myself as having MSNBC on in the background because it made me as comfortable as spa music and therefore, I stopped listening, stopped talking to people and slowly but surely, became better than them.
Quitting MSNBC has been hard and that alone tells me I was right to.

Maybe I was in a cult too?

It's easier for comfortable people to choose not to vote

Having said that, Is it really any wonder why Dems, mostly in urban economic success stories stayed home in greater numbers?

I'm perfectly ok with Hunter pardon

If President Biden protects all the other people in imminent danger of Trump's revenge tour in a similar way.
Otherwise it looks extremely self serving EVEN if he's justified doing it.

John Dean agrees with me. This is a must for President Biden!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to this the most amazing community of decent, loving people anywhere.
I am so grateful for your stories, ideas, feedback, acceptance and yes scoldings too.
Honor is a wonderful trait to have and I see a community filled with honorable people.
Thank you and may each of you have a safe and joy filled holiday.

Rahm Emmanuel

I believe the only reason people are pushing Rahm Emmanuel for DNC chair is because he's one of the few Democrats who is willing to fight like Republicans.
You know, take no prisoners and engage on your own terms, not theirs.
Just sayin

Please tell me Democrats; WHAT EXACTLY IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR?

If Dems had done this to any, and I mean ANY member of the R caucus, there would be calls for war all over RW propaganda channels and it would raise a groundswell of holy hell.

This is how Democrats have been losing voters!

I read the wonderful post from Dennis Donovan re: Representative-elect Sarah McBride and it dawns on me that we have Political version of the epic poem First They Came for Me by Pastor Martin Niemoller (no umlaut on my keyboard lol) that describes the slippery at best hold that Dem have on most of their constituencies.
As I write this, please know I am fully aware of the impossibility of accomplishing most of these things, and please be aware of the reality that each individual constituency is facing going forward from now and ask, what exactly have we done for "people here illegally", the poor, the millions who have had their lifes work dismissed and devalued in the name of profit, and I could go on and on.
Republicans fight every fight, no matter how ridiculous for one simple reason. They get to look like they're really standing up to these Commie, left wing lunatics every day.
I'm reminded of one of the Senators in the movie Gladiator stating that Commodus "will give them death and they will love him for it".
Many of the fights R's are on the verge of decisively winning today were initiated in the 70's and 80's and fought with the diligence and passion that made each one sound like the difference between life and death.
Think about it, abortion, judicial activism, right to work, anti regulation, religious freedom, again, I could go on and on.
Democrats haven't really fought for anybody in a long long time. Not in a way that inspires the masses or earns respect and loyalty (street cred). Dems are great at negotiating with themselves, when your opponent knows you'll always settle for half a loaf, that's coincidentally when they start.
I've been reading about the coming extinction of the republican party since the late 90's. It's with an appalling lack of vision combined with almost criminal neglect and topped off with arrogant incompetence that we are now, almost 30 years later, on the verge of that permanent majority that Rove dreamt off in the early 2000's.
We have been watching master tacticians beat the crap out of Dems since the 90's. We're still trying to win the same fight. Every policy conversation begins on R terms. I named 5 different fights that R's have been winning because they fought these fights every day, every place, thousands of times, loudly, gaining incremental wins that have literally opened the door to the dismantling of the right to privacy
The performance of the last 3 Democratic presidents has been by any measure nothing short of excellent. How is it that we couldn't tell that story in a way that voters could recognize?
Where is the Billy Beane (Moneyball) of the Democratic party?
Somebody please talk me off the proverbial ledge.
Isn't it a little late to start screaming when these last 16 years especially, when anyone with a pulse could see most of this coming and a regular Joe on the street couldn't name a thing Dems did to protect us?
I'm a news junkie and all I can remember is the law changing Jan 6 rules for contesting election and cementing VP role as ceremonial.
Any laws adding protections to the various agencies under threat? How about further cementing the employment protections of these 50 Thousand federal employees that will truly determine whether this Democracy lives or dies.
Republicans look like they're fighting because they are.
Democrats look like they're talking because they are.
THAT IS THE PROBLEM, PERIOD.

I'm going to preface what I say with

I wish I could believe all this bullet ballot "stuff"but I've listened to eight years of I got cheated on rigged votes and so maybe I'm throwing out the baby with the bathwater.
This all needs facts period. We have thousand of daily readers and if anyone wants to start looking for Facts, there's one you can ascertain with absolute certainty.
DID MY VOTE GET COUNTED FOR THE PEOPLE I VOTED FOR?
Until some hard factual cases arise, we end up looking just like all those bozos we laughed at for the last few years.
I'll close with the single most profound observation made by a reader that I read today. (Paraphrasing)
If there was evidence of fraud in this election, don't you think VP Harris and team, ESPECIALLY Mark Elias would be all over it regardless of cost?
I'm pretty cool trusting the EXPERTS on my team to make that determination.

Check your ballot status

A rant.
I'm m registered to VBM in Illinois. I got my ballot back in early October and immediately noticed the return envelope had me send the complete ballot to another county election office instead if my county.
Had I blindly filled it out and returned it, I believe my ballot would be disqualified
I mention this because I've been told for months now how enthusiasm is off the charts, turnout is setting records blah blah blah.
If all that is true, where are the 15 million votes that our record turnout and enthusiasm should have delivered?

Long story short, my Ruby Red county election official told me to go ahead, fill it out, change the address on the mailing envelope and send it in.
I went and undid my VBM and voted in person just to be safe.
Are there any other stories like this? .
I'm seriously pissed off because I feel like I've been duped by my own party. Late breakers for Kamala, enthusiasm up there with 2008, record turnout etc....
Are our experts so disconnected that no one saw this coming?
One final question, how is it that the 90% of the country moved to the right but he's not getting more votes than in 2020?
There's really only one question that absolutely requires an answer and that is WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO 15: MILLION VOTES?
If there's no reasonable answer to that question, TFG can and SHOULD scream from the rooftops, SEE? THEY DID CHEAT on 2020, how else do you explain the difference?

I just ended up posting my post twice

The posting is so slow that I'm timing out all the while I thought I had edited it.
Sorry things are demonstrably slower in the last week or so.

Died for being pregnant, Died for being black hmmmmm

Maybe white people will be able to finally understand the plight of black young men in this country for just being.
Watching Nicole on MSNBC just now as they discussed Nevaeh Crains' death while pregnant tragedy.
Any chance somebody says hey, that's kinda similar to death while black syndrome that's plagued young black men for ever?
Damn, I guess I just did.

BLM and Harris campaign should run an ad together naming names, say His name, say Her name.....
