So, the GOP is holding off on a stimulus right now so that 4Q will go down sharply and

they can blame it on Biden being elected? Looks like their plan to me. Biden and Kamala ought to be explaining this during their stump speeches. Let the voters know that they are suffering now because Trump and the GOP want to make it appear that Biden's election will cause a drop in the GDP and the stock markets. They know damn well that if they were to pass a stimulus package now there would be more spending in the Q4 just before Biden took office and they do not want him to get any credit for an improving economy.

If they don't pass a hefty stimulus package in Nov. COVID will wipe out all economic gains and carry us to record lows as so many have lost homes and been evicted with little or no hope of gaining employment for months to come.

If there is no more stimulus, that rise in GDP will be devoured in the 4th Q.

I know the history but I still do not understand the heavy support of Trump who seems to stand against everything of family and social value for immigrants and minorities in general.

It's huge but it follows a whopping drop last time. Most people won't understand this unless it is explained to them. It will not even get us back to the baseline where we were. COVID still looms large and Europe and elsewhere are shutting down again. Our GDP depends a lot on what the rest of the world is doing and what we do with COVID. People are still being evicted, people are still having utilities turned off. You know what Trump is saying about the economy is not exactly true. He is stiffing us just like he stiffed the folks standing out in the cold in Nebraska.

A few are made he now after all the squawking by consumers who learned that most of Trumps' brands are made in China.

Bill Clinton had surplus at the end of his terms and Obama left Trump a really sound recovering economy. I don't remember a time in my life time where oil, steel, or corporate farmers were crushed into bankruptcy. Coal mining corporations were profitable for the owners and CEOs but not the miners who got sick and died.

This entire BS about trade is so much smoke and mirrors. No question we could and should improve trade for country but that begins with the kind of consumers we have. They prefer foreign goods to our because they are cheaper They are cheaper because they are made with virtually slave labor. We don't want to pay decent wages to our workers because prices would have to increase TO ALLOW CORPORATE OBSCENE PROFITS. Who wants reasonable profits anymore? Not us. We don't want any profits unless they are obscene or we will take our business abroad. Now that the TPP was squashed here, those countries that signed on are doing much better then we are. If it were not for the greed of Microsoft and Apple we would almost have no economy.
