Friday declared George Floyd Remembrance Day in Dallas

The event was hosted by Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson, members of the Dallas City Council and Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson.

Mayor Johnson issued a proclamation declaring Friday George Floyd Remembrance Day in the city of Dallas.

"I am honored to be able to declare today George Floyd Remembrance Day, not just in remembrance of George Floyd himself but for what he represents in being a turning point for our nation, for our state and for our city," he said.

At 8:46 a.m., there was an 8-minute and 46-second moment of silence to honor the memory of Floyd. Many people knelt while others laid on the ground.

Labor Department admitted that government household survey-takers mistakenly counted about 4.9 million temporarily laid-off people as employed.
The government doesn't correct its survey results for fear of the appearance of political manipulation.
"..said the real May rate is worse than the numbers indicate".

LONDON/DUBAI (Reuters) - China's Huawei Technologies acted to cover up its relationship with a firm that had tried to sell prohibited U.S. computer gear to Iran, after Reuters in 2013 reported deep links between the firm and the telecom-equipment giant's chief financial officer, newly obtained internal Huawei documents show.

Huawei has long described the firm - Skycom Tech Co Ltd - as a separate local business partner in Iran.
Now, documents obtained by Reuters show how the Chinese tech titan effectively controlled Skycom
. The documents, reported here for the first time, are part of a trove of internal Huawei and Skycom Iran-related business records - including memos, letters and contractual agreements - that Reuters has reviewed.

One document described how Huawei scrambled in early 2013 to try to "separate" itself from Skycom out of concern over trade sanctions on Tehran.
To that end, this and other documents show, Huawei took a series of actions - including changing the managers of Skycom, shutting down Skycom's Tehran office and forming another business in Iran to take over tens of millions of dollars worth of Skycom contracts.

CIVIL RIGHTS GROUPS SUE TRUMP, BARR FOR TEAR-GASSING PROTESTERS OUTSIDE WHITE HOUSE

Protesters Allege Trump, Barr, Esper, and Other Officials Unlawfully Conspired to Violate Their Constitutional Rights

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONTACT: media@acludc.org

WASHINGTON — Protesters who were attacked with tear gas and other weapons by federal troops in front of the White House Monday evening as they were demonstrating against police brutality sued President Donald Trump, Attorney General William Barr, and numerous other federal officials today for violating their constitutional rights and engaging in an unlawful conspiracy to violate those rights.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Black Lives Matters D.C. and individual protesters today by the American Civil Liberties Union of the District of Columbia, Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs, Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and the law firm of Arnold & Porter.

“What happened to our members Monday evening, here in the nation’s capital, was an affront to all our rights,” said April Goggans, Core Organizer of Black Lives Matter D.C., the lead plaintiff in the case. “The death of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor at the hands of police officers has reignited the rage, pain, and deep sadness our community has suffered for generations. We won’t be silenced by tear gas and rubber bullets. Now is our time to be heard.”
