UhOh..Putin's party offices were on fire, just hours after Mob Boss Cortese flips in Italy

**Not saying for certain there's a connection between the 2 incidents, (just coincidental perhaps) BUT This Mob Story is damned fascinating nonetheless.

REGGIO CALABRIA, NOV 11 - The acting boss of one of the most powerful clans in Italy's richest and most powerful mafia, the Calabria-based 'Ndrangheta, has started collaborating with police from his prison cell, police said Wednesday.

This is a major breakthrough as he is the first 'Ndrangheta boss to help police.
The Calabrian organisation's rule
of silence or 'omertŕ' is even tighter than that of Cosa Nostra in Sicily, its older but less powerful cousin.
Maurizio Cortese, considered to be the 'regent' of the Serraino clan, has decided to become a confidential informant, judicial sources said.
Police said they hoped his turning state's evidence will help them fight 'Ndrangheta, which controls the European cocaine trade and has infiltrated the economies of Italy and many other countries. (ANSA).

Just Who Is The Calabrian Organisation?

Little-known mafia is cocaine ‘king’
DEC. 27, 2007

GIOIA TAURO, ITALY — Europe is fast overtaking the U.S. as the leading destination for the world’s cocaine, and a single Italian mafia is largely responsible.

The ‘Ndrangheta crime syndicate, a ruthless and mysterious network of 155 families born in the rough hills here in southern Italy’s Calabria region, now dominates the European drug trade. By establishing direct ties with Colombian producers and building a multibillion-dollar empire that spans five continents, the syndicate has metamorphosed into one of the craftiest criminal gangs in the world, authorities say.

“ ‘Ndrangheta is king,” said Sabas Pretelt de la Vega, a former Colombian interior minister who is his country’s ambassador to Rome.

The ‘Ndrangheta (pronounced en-DRAHN-geh-tah) peculiarly combines the modern skills of multinational-corporation high finance with a stubborn grip on archaic rural traditions.

Some members live in garishly opulent villas outside Madrid and invest in bustling restaurants and hotels in Germany, whereas others, including key bosses, remain in the dreary, closed Calabrian mountain villages of their birth.
It is a mafia of businessmen in Dolce & Gabbana, of sheepherders in scruffy woolens.

Hahaaaa ...Magat in DC cries, "Where's MAGA?"

Charles Koch says he regrets fueling partisanship: 'Boy, did we screw up!'

In a new Wall Street Journal article, the billionaire Charles Koch expressed regret about fostering partisanship.

He told The Journal that his new mission is to work across party lines on issues he sees as key, citing the economy, criminal justice, and immigration as examples.

The Journal reported that in a new book, Koch wrote: "Boy, did we screw up! What a mess!"

Koch and his brother David, who died last year, helped fund the rise of the tea party, which pushed the Republican Party significantly to the right over the past decade

~More, if you can stomach the bullshit....

With his billions, Koch sits safely & far from the ravages we all maneuver thru every dam day of our lives.

And hands it all off , ONCE AGAIN, to the Democratic Party to fuking fix.

Pharrell is launching a new MasterClass on racism, social justice

Pharrell Williams, in a partnership with MasterClass and Uninterrupted, released a six-minute mini MasterClass episode on the much more in-depth topics of empathy, racism, and social justice. Williams, 47, tweeted the news on Nov. 11 and the full video is available now to stream on the Uninterrupted website.

The MasterClass deck is packed with over 90 classes, teaching everything from how to be a great writer, to a potential course in curse words from Samuel L. Jackson. A monthly subscription costs $15, or $180 for a full year.

This is the first episode of many in the new series called “The Power You Hold.”

The series will examine “issues of social injustice and systemic racism, offering education and inspiration on ways to impact change,” reads the banner on the Uninterrupted website.

When his community reached out to Williams to see what could be done about “the locals” he told them to “change the temperature of the racial tension” in his city, fraught with systemic racism, and give them a creative outlet.

Empathy’s greatest potential is equality for all mankind. We’ve never seen that. We don’t know what that looks like. It’s never happened. Because equal means equal,” said Williams, ending his powerful class.

Oxy Becomes First U.S. Driller To Announce Net-Zero Plan

By Charles Kennedy - Nov 11, 2020, 9:30 AM CST

Occidental Petroleum has become the first U.S. oil company to announce a plan to slash greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero by 2050.

Oxy cited its expertise in enhanced oil recovery, which features carbon dioxide injection into oil wells, as well as experience with carbon capture technology, which, according to the company, position it at the forefront of emission-cutting efforts.

One of the biggest users of carbon dioxide, Occidental said it currently stores some 20 million tons of CO2 underground in the Permian every year. This amount, the company said, offsets the emissions from more than 4 million cars.

Using is expertise in CO2 capturing and use, by 2040, the company will strive to reduce emissions from its own operations to a net-zero and extend this to the use of its products by customers by 2050, chief executive Vicki Hollub said during a conference call yesterday, as quoted by Bloomberg.

Earlier this year, Occidental became the first U.S. company to endorse the World Bank’s Zero Routine Flaring by 2030 initiative, signaling it was part of efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

Oxy’s plan seems to be particularly impressive for analysts, as it features plans to reduce all emission scopes as classified by regulators and environmentalists.

*Scope 1 emissions refer to those from a company’s own operations.
*Scope 2 emissions come from utilities that supply power to the company, and
*Scope 3 emissions come from consumers using the company’s products.
