Top CEOs want Trump to be impeached after the deadly Capitol riot, according to a new survey by Yale

President Donald Trump should be impeached after inciting last week's deadly Capitol insurrection, the country's top chief executives say.

In a survey of roughly 40 CEOs of major US companies, 96% said Trump should be impeached and removed from office, Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, the founder of Yale's Chief Executive Leadership Institute, told Insider.

"We're at a point where an attack on our system requires our system to respond," one of the CEOs, said anonymously in the institute's survey. "Impeachment is an imperative."

Billionaires backed Republicans who sought to reverse US election results

Snip:

An anti-tax group funded primarily by billionaires has emerged as one of the biggest backers of the Republican lawmakers who sought to overturn the US election results, according to an analysis by the Guardian.

The Club for Growth’s biggest beneficiaries include Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz, the two Republican senators who led the effort to invalidate Joe Biden’s electoral victory, and the newly elected far-right gun-rights activist Lauren Boebert, a QAnon conspiracy theorist. Boebert was criticized last week for tweeting about the House speaker Nancy Pelosi’s location during the attack on the Capitol, even after lawmakers were told not to do so by police.

The check is not yet in the mail, but nearly 1.6 million Illinois Facebook users can expect to get about $350 each in a landmark privacy lawsuit.

The totals were disclosed in a California federal court Thursday during the final approval hearing for a $650 million class-action settlement over alleged violations of Illinois’ biometric privacy law.

"Senior Trump Official: We Were Wrong, He's a 'Fascist'"

Either your cognitive difficulties have been a life long issue or you're pretending you didn't support his fascist policies and rhetoric. Stop insulting us. Just stop.

I've posted about my Trump loving sister before. It's been quite some time since we've

had any conversations other than just a few brief words to check on each other during the pandemic. She stopped by the house and I donned a mask to meet her outside. We had our social distancing brief conversation.

Today she said she's thinking about leaving the country and then ranted about how she's not afraid of socialism but she knows we're going to become a Communist country with all the lawlessness.
I asked her if she was referring to the siege on the Capitol Building and the Republicans trying to overturn a free and fair election.

She went ballistic and shouted, "Trump supporters are good people! They would never do such a thing. It was Antifa and BLM. They're taking over our country with their lawlessness and turning us Communist."

By now I've had enough discussions with various Trump supporters since before the 2016 election and plenty of conversations with her to know that nothing I say, no logic I use, no evidence I provide will change her mind.
I turned around and walked away. As I walked into the house I could hear her shouting at the top of her lungs, "That's the problem with this country. No one will listen."

Damn, I'm tired.

The way things stand right now I would wager there's a very good chance that a lot more

Republicans will decide to vote in favor of Impeachment.
I say this because the corporations are weighing in now and members' campaign wallets are already whimpering.
Those who are on corporate leashes due to large donations are being brought up short and told to sit or lose the means to run for office.

A coup would cost Corporate America far more than the election funds they contribute to elected officials who are willing to do their bidding. They're being reigned in by the purse strings.
This is reason to push again for campaign finance reform.

Warning: Don't be fooled by the new demeanor. It's nothing more than a rebranding. Their moral code remains the same and with few exceptions their motives should be closely scrutinized in that regard.
BTW: Those who continued to insist the election was stolen even after the insurgency incited by their leader should be expelled. Every single one of them.

Trump inciting insurrection over fantasy ballots in 2020 is too much like

Bush going to war with Iraq over nonexistent weapons of mass destruction in 2003.
Too many lies believed by too many, too many lives lost and too high a price to pay for an exercise in futility.

Looking for the Insurrection Funding Source? Try this.

Trump's "Save America" leadership PAC was started days after Joe Biden was projected to with the Presidency. The PAC raised over $207Million since its inception.

The distribution of funds from this PAC should be thoroughly investigated to determine whether there is a connection between it and the insurgency incited by Trump and supported by the GOP.

'My son is a great patriot:' Mom of horned Arizona protester speaks out

Snip~
""My son is a great patriot, a veteran, a person who loves this country,” Martha Chansley, his mother, said.

Chansley said the attention has been surprising.

“I was surprised. I think at the time I don’t think he did anything wrong,” Martha said.

Chansley claims her son wasn’t part of the violence.

She said Jake told her that he simply walked through already open doors, roaming the halls and making his way to the Senate floor.

“If I'm not mistaken, isn’t it the people’s house?” Chansley said."

Yes, Congress should impeach Trump before he leaves office - Laurence H. Tribe and Josh Matz

Snip ~
"As the House of Representatives takes the extraordinary step of considering a second impeachment of President Trump during his final days in office, two questions loom large: Did Trump commit impeachable offenses? And does it make sense to impeach even though the Senate may not try and convict him before he leaves office on Jan. 20? The answer to both questions is yes."

Snip~
The article of impeachment circulated Friday by Democratic Reps. David N. Cicilline (R.I.), Jamie B. Raskin (Md.) and Ted Lieu (Calif.) accurately captures the gravity of Trump’s misconduct. It situates his action within his “prior efforts to subvert and obstruct the certification of the results of the 2020 presidential election.” And it recognizes the terrible damage that Trump, through his incitement, inflicted on the nation as a whole.

Trump’s actions might well qualify as federal crimes. But that determination is beside the point when it comes to measuring impeachable offenses. Impeachment exists to protect us from future threats rather than to punish prior misconduct. It does not require proof of a crime.

Snip~
But the Constitution does not require slow motion at times of crisis, especially when the nation witnessed an impeachable offense in real time. Here, holding protracted hearings would be a foolish undertaking, akin to playing a sonata on the decks of the Titanic. The House can and should act with dispatch.
