The top four nations in COVID cases...

United States, Brazil, India, and Russia.....

The top four countries for cases, and it's not very close, are all run by fascists. Coincidence?

Who are the Republicans in the Senate that we can work with?

Let's say that things on election day are close to what we see in polling now.

Biden wins the Presidency and Democrats net gain 3 or 4 seats in the Senate, taking the majority.

There is still going to be the issue of the filibuster and we aren't going to get rid of it (probably unwise to do and wouldn't have the votes).

So, to pass our agenda outside of what we could do with reconciliation we would need 9 or so Republicans to come along. Who are the ones that Biden could entice to vote with us to get something done, and what could we offer to bring them along?

I'll start first with the two most obvious ones.

Mitt Romney and Lisa Murkowski.

Both of these are immune from primary challengers and are known as moderates in the Senate. Romney will never lose an election in Utah and Murkowski has proven that she can win reelection even after losing the primary and launching a write-in campaign. She's untouchable in and Alaska general election.

Who are the others? I know most of these guys are scum, but there has to be a few out there.

"It is what it is"

That's the line we will look back on and say it was the moment Trump lost reelection.

He said nothing less than, yeah thousands of Americans are dying each week, but who gives a shit?

on CNN now

The Pandemic and the President.

If you can't watch it now, you need to stream it or catch a rerun later. This is the most damning thing put together on national television against a sitting president that I have ever seen.

I feel icky.....

but I'm rooting for Sessions to win an election today.

I want to see Trump spend the next four months openly campaigning against a republican candidate for Senate because he hurt his feelings 3 years ago.

Might just help Jones hold Alabama.

I was really happy when I heard Trump was going to start holding rallies again...

I want Trump to be in front of a camera and talking from here to election day.

Any time over the past few months that Trump speaks in public, his approval rating crash and Biden gains in head to head polls.

Trump has always said dumb/horrible things, but it seems like the teflon he used to have has worn off and now people are seeing through him more. This testing thing he dropped tonight is worse than any "gaffe" I can ever remember. He just admitted that he wanted to run a coverup on coronavirus. He's got 120k+ dead Americans and he's complaining that the testing designed to help save lives is hurting him politically.

I say keep it going, let's get in up there committing further political suicide in front of a crowd smaller than a Molly Hatchet concert.

Labor department mistake vastly underestimates unemployment rate in Fridays report according to WAPO

Getting more tired of Van Jones.

He's in a late night interview on CNN right now, some quotes.

"I'd rather he say MAGA loves black people than MAGA hates black people."

"Sometimes Trump does the right thing and then tweets the wrong thing."

"We don't need to beat him up for everything he does."

I'm sure there are more, but I can't listen to that guy anymore.

Live embedded reporting from Portland protests

This is Robert Evans. He's among the best independent conflict journalists I know of. He's especially good at reporting on protests and the alt-right. He's worth give a bit of time to.

a term to keep in mind when watching this happen...

Agents provocateurs.

a person who commits or who acts to entice another person to commit an illegal or rash act or falsely implicate them in partaking in an illegal act, so as to ruin the reputation or entice legal action against the target or a group they belong to. An agent provocateur may be a member of a law enforcement agency acting out of their own sense of duty or under orders, or other entity. They may target any group, such as a peaceful protest or demonstration, a union, a political party or a company.
