evertonfc's JournalThere will be turnout- it's why Joe is the man
There will be a huge turnout in Nov- no matter the nominee. We could nominate a concrete block and the last 4 years will drive a turnout. Sure, you may some sore losers on the margins but piss on them. A large turnout will help Joe. Moderates, independents, over 65- they will be comfortable with Joe. Add a young, dynamic VP and the young voters will join the campaign. If they dont- thier grievances are null and void. Joe Biden expands the map and will beat Trump. National polls, now, are irrelevant. You have to absorb an almost billion dollar onslaught of ads once nominee. Joe can. Sanders can't.
If this person was at the invite of Sanders at Seattle rally
She just wrote an ad for the GOP and she needs to be called out by our party. We are so doomed if radicals are given speaking spots. Outragous..
.."we need a powerful socialist movement to end all capitalist oppression and exploitation.
- Radical Socialist and BernieSanders surrogate, Kshama Sawant of the Seattle City Counsel.
Nate Cohn makes good Bernie observation
On the electability front, one interesting question is Arizona. For many Democrats, it's their natural and perhaps increasingly necessary backup to Wisconsin. But so far and AFAIK, Sanders hasn't led any general election poll of Arizona, including our Times/Siena poll from Oct.
Trump Anti Biden ad in SC
Looks like the President Trump's team is running a new negative ad against Joe Biden in South Carolina -- just another reminder who they fear more than anyone.
Warren strategy?
She has finished like 4th in every race. Still spending time on Bloomberg. I mean, good point but the frontrunner isn't Bloomberg and you have a week until your finished
I'm sick of threats of voters not voting
If this guy or that guy dosent get the nomination thier voters won't show up, ect. Ok. Don't show up. If your so up the ass of a candidate that you won't support another- your in more of a cult than a campaign. If you want to take your chips and go home, so be it. I'll be fine. I have a good job, fantastic health care in a house in Costa Rica. Stay at home but please don't post spend the next 4 years bitching and moaning about injustices, court rulings and some hard knocks life. I almost think campaigns on both sides are already setting up a narrative that they were screwed or robbed if they lose. So, in essence, if your candidate loses you can take some comfort in knowing that they were actually the victors but in America, the election is always rigged if your guy loses. Both parties have factions that have become tribal and to be honest- a bit self righteous and paranoid.
My worry with Bernie is less older Cuban Americans but
more the over 65 demographic nationally. This age group votes in force and are, by far, to be most hostile toward a hint of socialism. Sanders finished 5th in Nevada with the most dependable voter demographic nationally. Young people will come out but how many? I'm around teens all day and they seem a bit oblivious. Are the young adults nationally as political as the ones at the rallies, ect? What say you?
Candadates will have to slow Sanders
momentum in next debate or the race will be over. Problem is that debating policy won't work. They will now be forced to make the argument he is unelectable. They probably cant unless they really get nasty. If they try to debate policy they should depart immediately to thier homes after debate because game over.
Who is Bari Weiss?
Nate Silver posted a tweet where she says Trump will run away with the Jewish vote if Bernie is nominee.
My apologies to Bernie Sanders and his supporters
I've been tough on Bernie and in some cases, lashed out. I'm a life long Democrat and progressive. I've worked campaigns for 25 years. I supported Sanders in 2016 and probably line up with him politically more than anyone. My campaign hat worries he will be a tough sell electorally- not because of his ideas but more so his history. I'm ready to defeat Trump. I think there are better candidates electorally but maybe a movement is better than a candidate. Trump was. Im sorry if I come across as attempting to damage Sanders. I wasn't. I'm just a passionate Democrat that wants to beat Trump. I'm on board with whomever- from Bloomberg to Sanders. Let's be honest- If you are someone who cares, any one is miles better than Trump. We can sort out policy differences later. None of our candidates will have Stephen Miller ad thier advisor. That's a start. Keep fighting. If it's the Bern, I'm in
