Steve Bannon's looking really rough these days

Nick Cage isn't aging well either.

I'll let Todrick Hall and Bob the Drag Queen speak for me concerning the Alito draft ruling

"So we will fight for justice,
We will fight for equality,
And if the wizard wants to stop me,
He's gonna have to take me down!

And if you think that we'd cower and be scared,
Think I won't be marching with my fist up in the air?
Bitch, you got the wrong bitch.
You got the wrong bitch,
You got the wrong, wrong bitch!"

D.C. police officer's suicide after Jan. 6 riot declared line-of-duty death

"The death of a Washington police officer who died by suicide just days after he was assaulted during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol has been ruled a line-of-duty death, a finding that makes his widow eligible for enhanced survivor benefits.

“Based on evidence submitted by the petitioner and the Department, we find that Officer Smith sustained a personal injury on January 6, 2021, while performing his duties and that his injury was the sole and direct cause of his death,” the D.C. Police and Firefighters’ Retirement and Relief Board wrote in a letter obtained by NBC News on Wednesday.

Smith, according to his widow, described Jan. 6, 2021, as the worst day of his life. After her husband’s death, Erin Smith found out she had lost her medical benefits through his job while she was standing at a pharmacy counter.

------

A former D.C. chief medical examiner said in an earlier review that there was “a direct cause and effect relationship between the line of duty work trauma on Jan. 6 and Jeffrey Smith’s death,” adding that Smith had “no prior history of depression, mental health issues or mental health treatment.”

----

David P. Weber, an attorney for Smith's estate, said it's very rare for an officer suicide to be declared a line-of-duty death. "This is the first time where someone who has suffered a brain injury, and an emotional injury, has been acknowledged as a line-of-duty death," Weber said. "This will impact widows, widowers, children and parents of everyday heroes who have suffered these injuries in the line of duty."

VA Gov Youngkin has a "tip line" for teachers promoting "divisive concepts"

Governor Youngkin’s first Executive Order was to ban "CRT" and end the teaching of “divisive concepts.” We all know what that is code for.

As part of this EO, Youngkin went on far right radio and shared his tip line for parents to report teachers who are teaching “divisive” concepts.

[email protected]

Look, not all teachers are perfect and most of us have - from time to time - had teachers that have said things to students that they should not. but there are appropriate channels to handle that. First, speaking to the teacher, and then to the principal or even Superintendent.

THIS tip line, is massive government over reach and smacks of big brother.

It would be a “shame” if the tip line was over loaded with “tips.”

1978. Cher. In drag. Singing all the parts in West Side Story.

So many layers of awesome.

https://www.onstageblog.com/columns//west-side-story-with-cher

"This comes from her Cher…Special which originally aired in April of 1978. Other segments include guests Dolly Parton and Rod Stewart, cast as neighbors in an apartment building, performing their hit songs "Two Doors Down" (Parton) and "Hot Legs" (Stewart); Cher and Dolly having a conversation consisting entirely of song titles and lyrics from pop songs; and Cher working by day in a boring secretarial job but dancing at night in the discos.

It was honored with a Technical Emmy Award for "Best Achievement in Lighting Direction". It also received an Emmy nomination for "Best Art Direction for a Comedy-Variety or Musical Special" and Dolly Parton was also nominated for an Emmy in the category of "Best Supporting Actress in a Variety or Musical Special"

The show actually begins on a somewhat poignant note. Cher steps into the spotlight, made up to look like a younger version of herself with her hair in pigtails. The young Cher sits on the floor and tells her mother that she is upset because she is not blonde and she says that all the pretty girls have blonde hair and blue eyes. Her mother tells her daughter that she is beautiful and someday she will realize just how special she really is.

Cher tells her mother that she will try to understand and explains that she got into the record albums so that she could learn the songs from West Side Story for school. When her mother asks Cher what part she is going to play, Cher replies, "all of them".

Here’s the clip."

Justice Coney Barrett has a simple way to back up her statement about pregnancy...

Justice Coney Barrett could absolutely back up her claim that full term pregnancy and giving birth to a child that you don't intend to raise is clearly not a burden for any healthy woman because 'they can just drop off the newborn at a Safe Haven site' and continue on with their lives.

She could offer up the use of her body for nine months as a surrogate and be an example to all the women (and girls) that she is expecting to do exactly that.

She could demonstrate personally how giving birth to a baby to hand over to someone else doesn't affect her career, her family or her emotional health and well being in any significant way.

I'm surprised she hasn't announced her intention to do so.
